12 pack buildup.....
« on: Dec 17, 2004, 06:47:03 PM »
NEWkid's rig....
I spotted this rig sittin on the side of a road near a local 4 wheel parts warehouse.   I noticed that ll of the glass had been broken, the paint was horrible, it had a bent front axle housing, no bench seat, stripped interior, cracked frame near the spring hangers( the usual) and it didnt start.....
So we ran the plates and found out that it was under the name of some one who lived on the other side of town.   we got the address  and met the owner.  he said he gave it to his brother and his brother said he didnt want it cause the camber was so bad and it had major death wobble.  All the guy wanted for it was a 12 pack of beer.   Cant beat that....  :beerchug:

So we primered it, replaced the front axle, installed new glass in all the doors and windows, got a seat for it, and today we installed a 2 inch body lift that was sitting in the back of the truck when we got it.....

we aquired a display rack from the local harbor frieght tools and travis'(new kid) mom works there and her boss said that we could have the rack.  it was 80 feet of 2x2 angle iron that is 3/16 thick.    It worked perfect for our booty fab rti ramp.... heres more when we installed the body lift

cant beat that score that we got though... we poured fresh gas and oil into the truck when we got it home and it fired right up...  5th gear is shot in the truck and the clutch might need to be replaced but at least we got it for a 12 pack.... The motor was also rebuilt, came with power steering, polished valve cover, smogpump and all the accessories.   it also had aluminum door panels sorta like what kyota has....
