I got an 85 xtra cab with allpoo 4" spings, longer shackles and dropped front hanger, and i am running 37" MTR's  they rub like a mother :snare:  I want to trim my fenders front and rear and was woundering if you guys could post some pictures of how some of you have done it so i could get an idea of what shape :headscratch:  to do it in, and what would be better to use a sawsall or a grinder with a cutting wheel?

Thanx
Joe.

I cut mine with a cutoff wheel and then smoothed it with a sanding pad on a 4" angle grinder.   I have a plasma cutter and all, but the line turned out smoother with the grinder.  My 37's clear the fender now, but rub the hell outta the firewall.  I'll point some  :flamer: at it next...

'84 Hilux, locked, dual-cased, winched, EFI converted, 37" tired, half-doored (in the summer...)
'87 Supra, 400 HP.  smooth as glass at 130 'cause my tires are NEW!...

37"s on a 91 IFS.  The cut follows the curve of the stock fender edge, just about 4" up.  It worked great in the rear, but the front still catches a bit on the bumper edges

oh yeah, sawzall

Here are some pics, not direct, but you can see what it looks like

yah I was really thinking of using a cut off wheel but thought it would burn the paint.  So i think i am going to just use the sawsall, but now all i have to do is save up $1200 so i can buy a plasma cutter :gap: and clearance my fire wall.

I outlined my cut with tape and just used a jig saw, It was really easy to control.
