Been thinking of sending my hubs and lockouts to Mike @ Hendrix Motorsports to be milled and pinned and getting the chromoly studs from Front Range. I havent had any problems with the stock set up but I'm the type that likes to eliminate possible problems before they happen (on the trail). Anyone break stock studs regularly? looks like when the studs break it pretty much wipes the hub.

I saw that thread last night too.  I had to chuckle when I saw that, those are the exact studs I used to hold the headers on the 84 beings nothing else would fit due to the headers being garbage.  I think those studs could help out a good bit if you drilled a bit so the hub actually engaged the 3/8" shoulder of the stud.

Are you talking about chromoly  8mm studs? where did you get them?

WHITE_TRASH

Nope the studs that bobby posted on PBB.  They are 3/8" and they neck down to 5/16".  They are grade 8

Saw that too, I was talking about the 8mm studs that thread into the hub without having to redrill and tap the hub to 3/8.

I think once I get the new 30 spline axles Ill send in my hubs to air ride for pinning and get the chromolly stud kits that he offers.

What does he offer for studs? I couldnt find anything on his site.  Front Range sells studs that they had made for this application by ARP.

Im pretty sure it was him that asked on PBB awhile back if anyone was interested in CroMo studs.....  It was one of the vendors over there anyway. :smack:

Did you even look at the links above  :headscratch:   Brian E. from FROR asked about making the studs, were just going around in circles here  :biked:

WHITE_TRASH

lol sadly yes I did look at the links.  I had read them when they forst were posted and again when you posted but I just glanced the second time when I realized Id already seen them.  :smack:

But yes Id get the studs AND pin the hubs.  But I dont think Id need to do that for awhile.
