what tranny do i have

ok well i got a 85 carb pickup and was wondering what tranny and t case they are equipped with? dont have the truck as of now. still waiting for my buddy to get back from the army in 2 weeks till i get the truck but was just wondering... thanx guys!! :beerchug: oh and i saw a write up on how to tell the chain driven and gear driven apart by how many bolts on the outside? n e one know how many the gear driven one is?  :beerchug:

You got a G52 or G54 with a forward shift gear driven transfercase, is a long bed or short good cond. or bad sounds sweet anyways post pics when you get it  :hammerhead:  :turtle:

G52 or G54 and if its a 85 its gear driven

Thanks glen, did you find out about that mini spool?, I haven't had time to work on my pumkins I got an axle rebuild and a dual cases to build  :smack:   :hammerhead:

thanx midgetmike.... dont remember what toy trannys are the good ones?? i think someone said the 56 sux.. but not sure... so how are the 52 and 54's???  i know the old one is either a 54-52 but he ended up putting another tranny in so im hopeing its the best of the best... or atleast decent and not a piece of $hit!!... but ne ways ya its in pretty good condition new engine radiater xtra t case/tranny campershell ect... but heres a pic of the truck i will be getting in about 2 weeks when he comes back!!  :drooling:  :drooling:  im finally getting another yota!!!

but ya ill do more of a write up when i actually get it... but am for sure gettin it unless he backs out for some strange reason... :crossed:  but jus a lil about what im planning on doin soon after i get the truck... 4'' spring lift.. already has 2'' lift shackles and more than lickly a 2'' body but not sure.. then either 35-37 goodyear mtr's  and until i get more money im gettin the twinshift from marlin ''of course'' and welding both diffs for a while till i get even more dinero for lockers, axles. full width??!! but thats it for now... look for updated on 2-3 weeks!!  :beerchug:

i found one somewhere for like $100  but dont have the $$ to get one and experiment yet


dude  the w56 is one of the best,  but if you want to dream  wish he put in a R151  its the baddest mother of them all
