v6 crawl box install and v6 twin stick install questions
« on: May 25, 2010, 10:18:03 PM »
i just received my twin sticks and crawl box assemblies for my 88 v6 pickup. and i am having some troubles. i found that the addapter plate that mounts the crawl box to my t-case has clearance problems. my t-case has a cover around the input shaft. that makes contact with the addapter plate. i think all i need to do make a small notch in the addapter plate. but i am wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

My second issue is that i don't know if there is anything that i need to do to my v6 t-case in order to install my twin sticks. or dose it just drop right in. im kind of disapointed that i did not get any instructions on either of these products from marlin crawler .  if anyone has any input it would be appreciated very much thanks

The instructions are on the tech page but to get there you have to click on the store button.

Not sure what's up with the clearance issue but anytime you install twin stick you have to remove the shift/guide rail so you can remove the center detent ball. Search around you should be able to find pics of this.

Few questions for you.

If I read this right you are putting a gear drive T-case in front of your chain drive t-case?

Did you make sure the coupler is all the way in on the tranny? They are real tight and really have to be hit pretty hard. I used a block of wood and a 4 pound hammer.

Is the seal adapter seated all the way in on the adapter plate?

Did you do the grinding on the tranny as per instructions?
