Hey guys,
OK previously I wanted to know how to get the shifter base off. Thanks to Marlin and FIREBALL(Jason) I got my shifter off and i ordered a new shifter seat and pivot bushing from Marlin Crawler.

I just got the 2 parts today and installed the shifter pivot bushing with no problem. Now the problem is, How the heck do you get the shifter seat on there? It has those 2 pins sticking out and its like you need to get them off to get the Shifter Seat on. So anyone thats got on the shifter seat, please share some info on how to get it in. Id really like to have it in before I head to Mt. Shasta on Saturday Morning (Christmas Day). So anyone, how do i get the seat in with the 2 pins sticking out on the inside?

EDIT: I got it fixed....

Thanks,
Chris

I tried unbloting it today and pulling it out then up but it wasnt coming. I got angry and just put it back on and now its even harder to shift. Kinda agravating... It still shifts but it feels bound up. Its weird, i wasnt forcing it or anything.

:tantrum: I had trouble with a 76 toy(Celica GT) where I had to take the shifter out B4 and when I got it back in it was stiff  and if I remember right I had the plate w/the 4 bolts in it turned 180* :smack:  just had to unbolt it and turn it around. :psss:

Marlin

Put the four 8x1.25mm bolts back in. You probably broke the collar of the shifter base :hammerhead:

You need to pull up on the handle boot, and push down on the double D metal retainer and rotate it 1/4" counterwise to remove the shifter handle. If it is full of gunk, you may need to use WD40 to get it to turn.
