Hmmm, lets figure this out real quick here, it is real easy. Lets do a Soviet Union/United States Comparison.

The Soviet Union tore down their wall between countries, we built one.

With the fall of that wall socialism as they knew it also fell, ours is increasing.

Jusidiction was controlled by the centalized government until the fall of the wall, though still controlled centrally they have become more and more regional (state run), we on the other hand have lost those jurisdiction lines that kept other states out of our business.

The individual regions were run by a centralized government that controlled everything until that wall fell, until we built that wall we were a decentralized indepentantly run state operation. Recently we are becoming more and more a centralized run government, with the states losing more control.

It seems to me that we are headed towards a Soviet system compared to the Soviet's moving away from one. Soon we will be called the United Union and they will be called the Soviet States of Eurasia. Ronald Reagan is rolling over in his grave as we speak.


Health care was the problem of the state, some do have socialized health care some do not, now we will have it rammed down our throats. Have you ever had to deal with government health care? Just go visit any "county" run hospital and you'll see what the future has in store for us. Go to a private hospital and you'll see the difference, if this is passed all hospitals will end up like the typical "county" facility since their funds will be coming from them and not from insurance companies. Yes the health care system needs to be fixed but I don't see socialized as the answer, just check the search I did for a LA County Hospital MLK/Drew Medical......

Don't be fooled for a minute. The "healthcare reform" is not so much to do about healthcare as it is a major power grab for the fedral govt. If they can control one of the largest industries in the US, then they have gained even more control over the common citizen, and made themselves more indespensable. There is not one single line in the US Constitution or Bill of Rights that gives the government the authority to control healthcare, or even suggests that it should be involved. I'm not suggesting that the current state of health care is totally sustainable, or shouldn't be tweaked some, but a government take-over is certainly not the answer.

For a preview of coming attractions, just walk into your local DMV, Court house, Welfare office or review how incredibly efficient the US postal service is, or even AmTrack for that matter.

IMHO, this is a disaster in the making, and too many of these "lawmakers" are just interested in getting re-elected or having their name on some landmark piece of legislation, without thinking what it will do to the country. I'm concerned that it will drive us into bankruptcy as a nation.Of course, they will pull money away from the schools in order to keep this monster afloat (they always do). This always works, 'cause then the population remains uneducated, and cannot rise against them. One can only hope it dies a painful death over the next few weeks, but I'd be very surprised if "something" isn't passed. Don't bother asking your congress or senate representatives, 'cause since they have not read it, ( and likely wouldn't understand it even if they did) they won't know anything about what it really says. Mr. Obama and his merry band of idiots are too hot on this to just let it die quietly like Hillarycare did.

its not, we want you to spend money on your healthcare for so much a month, yet where do i get the money from? i havent had a job in years, and most people now days dont have a job either. lame lame. if they wanted it so bad why dont they pay for it or leave it like it was.
I mean do americans really have money to spend for coverage no they do not! they can barely keep with house bills and other bills.

if it gets to the point that thisactually is the law (going to be some major legal battles over it) and they start fining me for not having insurance i will not pay the fine, when they come to arrest me they wont succeed!

Here is the kicker.  If you don't have health insurance, you will be fined 2.5% of you income or $695.00 per year, whatever is more.  Its done on your yearly income tax so if you fail to do it there would also be income tax evasion issues.    If you have a "Cadillac" plan (extremely good plan) provided to you by your employer your employer will be taxed 40% of its cost yearly.  This translated into your employer lowering your health benefits because I can't see any company paying this much in taxes for each employee.     Exclude from this is 40% tax is of course Union employers, members of Congress, and government employees.   They get to keep their Cadillac plans at our expense. 

Ultimately what will happen is small businees owners will eliminate all employees and call them sub-contractors, leaving you to find health insurance on your own.

i personally enjoyed the clip from the a hole d from Florida who admitted to making up the rules as they go along. yeah this is a power grab from a bunch of hippie progressives who have been infiltrating our government and education institutions over the last 45+ years.i  will not stand for the ignorance and audacity of these p.o.s apparently they have no understanding of  American history, communism is unacceptable and will not be tolerated get involved or we will pay the price.the machine is broken

Socialism removes middle class from the equation.  You still have the rich elites (i.e politicians and their cronies) and then you have the commoners that through taxation eventually get sucked down to the poverty level.  Then the elites give the commoners just enough (healthcare, welfare, etc)to keep you going but the system is designed to prevent you from ever being able to reach the elite level.

Of course I believe all of this crap is all on purpose to make America no longer a super power, and that when the One World Government is established, knowing that We The People will refuse to go along with it, because we are in debt to so many countries we will basically get black mailed or otherwise forced to go along with it. This seems like the only way to get this country to fold.

But that set aside, I am still young and really have only been paying attention to the government for about the last 15 years, so I want to ask the more experienced members here this question: Back in the 50s or 60s or 70s, etcetera, was there as much conspiracy talk as we have today?

Remember the part in the ObamaCare pitch when they said if you like your current healthcare, it won't change?

Turns out it might.

Companies are already announcing that their healthcare premium costs are going through the roof.  Some are responding by firing people.  Some are cutting benefits.  And some are presumably eating it.

But costs they are a-rising.

A few examples from the WSJ:
-- Caterpillar said it would cost the company at least $100 million more in the first year alone.
-- Medical device maker Medtronic warned that new taxes on its products could force it to lay off a thousand workers.
-- Verizon announced to employees that it will likely have to cut healthcare benefits to offset the new costs.

So, people who like your employer-provided health insurance, get ready to pay more or get less.

Its like chess if you dont have the patience for it dont even bother playing, because thats exactly how they got us is by being patient and out thinking our ever move.
