1st gen 4runner audio wiring question
« on: Mar 19, 2010, 04:24:41 AM »
Asked this question on yotatech almost a week ago with 0 replies. I have the DLX 4runner and it doesn't have rear speakers, but has the holes in the side panels for them. Also i don't have a tach but the wiring harness supports that as long as you put in a new oil pressure sending unit. Im wondering if the same philosophy works here. Is my wiring setup for rear speakers, if so do you know what color is what? thanks

if there are holes then look inside for speaker wire. if you dont see any then no its not set up. but you can probably wire some right into the radio. it has to have pigtails for more speaker hanging out the back. i dont know what color the wires will be but speaker wires always come in color pairs, whether it be gray, purple green... the one with a stripe on it is grownd and solid one is pos. you can figure out wich is left and right by doing an audo check. honestly if its an aftermarket unit, you have atleast a 50% chance that everything in the back is labeled.

Factory speaker wiring sucks anyway... run some heavier gage wire back there for some nice 6x9's or install an amp and run new wires there anyway :)

Are you looking for a diagram for the factory harness or the pioneer harness?
