Well, after owning this vehicle for over two years, I have finally started putting time into it.
Maybe the lay off helped motivate me, maybe I just got motivated, but either way it has begun.
Specs to start
1988 toyota truck
2.4l 22re
Auto trans
2" body lift on the cab None on the Bed
Couple Shotgun blasts to the bed (long story)
Otherwise stock.
First step was pulling out the crappy auto and doing a "5 spd swap"
Well, that was fine, except, The motor wasn't all that healthy, nor was any of the wiring I had seen.
So, I have a full drive train out of a 1991. Why not.

I Pulled the 91 dash, gauges, trans, motor, entire wiring harness, and eeeeverything else.
Of course, nothing fit right. So now I have a b*std child with a half divorced dash.
Whatever, its a trail rig. i don't care.
Then, I decided the whole truck was far to long, so I cut some off.
Just the gold actually. Who likes gold paint anyway. Pretty faboulous...

And then Cut it off..yea.

Weld it back on (yeap, it looks like crap. i don't care)

Put some primer on it, call it a day!

A long time ago, erm, when i was last motivated, i actually welded up the rear dif. So I have some traction.
But, since then I have been stocking up on parts for more better'r stuff.
Last swap meet I pickup up a set of 4.88 gears, a spare t-case (to put my shiney new XD 4.7's in...when ever they get here) and a few other random things here and there.
I also ordered up a 1.5" drive train lift cross member from Budbuilt and a mini install kit for my said gears.
Now I get to wait for a week for everything to arive and then more gears get to be turned!!! Yaaay
So far I have only taken it out twice wheeling and managed to tear off a side wall the first trip. So, the other day I handed over a few bills and got a set of 5 33" BFG MT's to putter around on.
More pics to come of later work!!
