Topic: 22R to 22RE conversion help

i am in the process of converting an 84 22r in to a 85 22RE i am having isues with the timing chain. the 22r's chain is 49 links long and the RE's chain is 48 links long. when i use the RE's chain it is way to tight and when i use the R's chain it is way to loose. what do i do??

Sorry bud, but you're trying to stick a late head on an early block without shaving the head.
