AC compressor removal??

Hey I wanted to remove my ac compressor on my 85 yota. Its currently uncharged and not hooked up to the belt system so it looks like just a matter or bolt removal. My question is wheather I can remove the compressor along with the discharge and compression tubes without coolant going anywhere, etc??? I want to remove the line coming from the top of the radiator on the passenger side to the compressor and the line that runs compressor to firewall. Is this ok or a no-go?

it should just unbolt. You can also remove the dryer, and the ac radiator. Make sure you plug the holes going into the cab. Incase you ever want to use it again

Without an oil source, you'll eventually destroy the compressor

I carry some extra oil always, just add a little before every use.
I wonder how many people drain their shop air compessors daily?

Except for York compressors which have a oil sump, the lubrication of AC compressors depend on the oil in the system circulating........

I have a york. (not installed) and the thing is massive.

I run a Harrison AC compressor and I put an oiler on the intake.  Thing puts out air like nobodies business, on at 90 and off at 130.

i kept mine and used it for my arb  and to air up and use power tools works great, just gotta remember to keep them oiled or they will  up

Why do you want to remove it for? Turn it into onboard air!
