Top Speeds?
« on: Jan 26, 2010, 09:22:45 PM »
What are you guys top speeds? Obviously post tire size and what gearing you have.

Plans for my truck are 37's and 5.29 gears. My goal is to be able to hit at least 60 MPH in case I want to jump on the highway for some local spots or drive the truck to the nearest bar instead of putting it back on the trailer. So I was just interested to see what I can expect for a top speed. Thanks in advance!

I've ran 80 with my 37s and 5.29s.  Driving on the interstate I can do 70 all day and pull hills no problem and it stays right around 3000-3500 rpm.

Hahaha too funny!

Sounds like I will have no problem then!

Im runniung off LPG right now and will most likely buy some sort of exhaust header becasue I have an exhaust leak or I will just weld the whole up. Depends on where it is. So I dont think I will have any problem keeping up with the flow of traffic. Thanks guys!

3rz, 4.88s, 37s MTR... As fast as I want... But fastest I hit on the flats is 85, that's too fast to stop in a reasonable amount of time so I stopped there. Up steep hills I can pull third to 5000rpm and hold 70+ 7% grades. Plenty of power for a 4 squirrels.

Yesterday I got up to 80-85 with 33s and 4.30s. 22re with 2" exhaust and header. It will do more but the truck really starts to shake BAD at that point. 3rd at 55-60 no problem.
