ok guys. I am a newbie and i did try using the search button. so here is my question. I haven't driven my crawler for a while. This morning i noticed a puddle of fluid below where my driveline meets my front third member. I got a haynes manual but am not exactly good at working on my own rig yet. Where would you guys start and what could this be<<<

most likely that seal,
cheap fix and easy to.
drop the drive line,
take off the nut that holds the flange on
take off the flange
pull seal
put in new seal, make sure to install it evenly, use a socket to put it in

check out page 232 of your haynes manual.

oh and for gods sake change mamber to member

so i checked the differential parts on marlins website. I am guessing you mean the pinion seals? And when you say member to member you mean do both right??

yeah its a pinion seal.  Just do the one that is leaking he was talking about how your title says "mamber".  When you put in your new seal pack it with lithium grease so the spring stays on the seal.  I also coat the outside of mine with RTV to make sure it doesn't leak.

my rear third member had oil condensation before wheeling trip so i went to tighten the bolts and they were pretty loose. i added gear oil and it's been fine ever since.

i guess i should change my seal also just to make sure. that guy had a good idea using a socket to align the seal. i had to figure that one out for myself when i changed the one my transfer case.
