R150F Question
« on: Dec 29, 2009, 05:27:58 PM »
My 5spd trans makes alittle noise while driving in any gear. There is not any noise while it is stopped, in gear or not. It has about 210k on it and I can't afford to rebuild it right now. Is there any oil ie. Lucas or Royal Purple that will quiet it down? Thanks
Jeff

lucas trans honey will probably quiet it down a little- but your only putting a bandaid on a war wound. better rebuild or replace asap

Would that be a gear noise? Can you feel it in shifter? If thats the case get motivated to rebuild or replace.
My R150F makes a whinnig noise but it is normal especially on colder days (till the trans heats up). Marlin kit installed in mine 2 years ago by local shop my total cost for rebuild was under 700 with my good core.  Be careful
