take the cap off and start throwing matches at it and maybe the explosion will blow the dent back out :dunno:

seriously just replace it

WHITE_TRASH

Why not pull the tank out and cap thepressure and vent together with ful line and put about 120 psi to it.  The dent should pop right out.  If that doesnt work pull the pump out and fill the tank with water and wait for winter.  Once the water turns to ice it will pop the dent out guaranteed.

4Runner has a skid plate. is it bent too? Take that off. run it as out of gas as you can. under the back seat is a access panel Pull the pick up and make sure its not bent as well.

Use a WOOD or FIBERGLASS dowel like a shovel handle and see if you can push the dent out. Chink of wood as a mallet. No metal that could spark. Do it out in the open with all doors and windows open in a breeze if possible.  Be carefull with sparks including static.

I'm serious about this too. Most gas station fires are from static discharge. The person will start pumping gas then get back into the car for a second. When they get back out the build a static charge off the seats. Then they reach for the fill nozel and discharge on it. Always put your hand on the body before the fill neck to prevent discharge where the fumes are.

If you want to be real safe, since your going to have to climb into the truck to get this dent out then get a long peice of wire and strip off about 8 inches of insulation. Attache the other end to the truck some how so it's grounded. Wrap the bare wire around your wrist on bare skin and duct tape it there. That will make you electrically common with the truck and remove the chance you will static discharge on the body while moving around on the fabrics of the interrior.  Sounds dumb I know but it will work and privde a little bit of extra safety while around the gasoline fumes.

I've got a magna spot for pulling dents but I dont know if I'd want to be shooting the studs on a gas tank (spot welds studs on). works sweet though.

WHITE_TRASH

Damn Kyota talk about going all out!  Those stud guns are a serious time saving tool that is handy as all hell for pulling dents.

depends on which kit you buy the one pictured has all the extra clamps and z wires for different pulls and comes in a carrying case , its the spendy one. The kit I bought is just the gun and puller (slider hammer) no case. I got it here
