Parting '81 out with tons of Marlin and AllPro parts.
« on: Dec 22, 2009, 03:34:28 PM »
Reason for parting out:
No longer interested in crazy wheeling or finishing my project; my Ram can take me to where I want to go, plus I can take my wife, dogs, and all the gear in comfort.

The truck I'm parting out:
'81 Hilux.

Aftermarket parts with about two miles on them (no dookie):
MC07R10
AllPro 4" lift
AllPro hi-steer
AllPro SS brake lines
HP front e-locker with 5.29's (brand new from Marlin)
rear e-locker with 5.29's (brand new from Marlin)

Aftermarket parts with zero miles on them:
Sky driveline e-brake

Aftermarket parts with about 150 miles on them:
Marlin HD clutch
Totally rebuilt '86 22RE- literally everything except the block and main caps was replaced.  Bored .20 over, and almost all parts sourced from Engnbldr.com.  Has the RV head and 261 cam.
Thorley header with 2.25" collector and 2.25" exhaust with muffler and no cat that stops at the back of the cab.
Marlin front axle rebuild kit (bearings, gaskets, shims, seals)

Axles have been modded to accept the e-lockers, and the rear axle is from an '87.  Rear axle is not set up for OEM ebrake, and both axles have brand new shoes, drums pads and discs with two miles on them, but the discs are rusty and may need to be turned (or just driven hard).

I also have AllPro sliders for a 4Runner/ short WB truck.

The EFI swap doesn't throw codes and if anyone wants the EFI swap harness, I'll do my best to label wires as I remove them.

Bed's got terminal cancer but a solid floor and tailgate.  Doors are in good shape for their age/ use, none of the gaskets leak and windows roll/ open as they should.  Cab's in good shape for its age/ use, but the front rad support's tweaked a bit.  All glass is good and the rear window is a slider.  Hood and fenders are relatively straight, too.  Tail lights aren't cracked or leak.  Headlights are Hella H4 conversions with H4 HIDs (low beam only) and have an awesome beam pattern.

Frame is straight and relatively rust free.

SR5 gauges (dash pod and tach in the cluster)

All AC components

Transmission works good, but will eventually need new input bearing.

Rear driveshaft is a temporary cut/ eyeball/ weld job I did on the OEM '81 DS so I could limp it two miles from the shop to my house.  I have two front driveshafts- one from an '86 and the OEM '81 DS.

I was also starting to build a gas powered compressor and have a 6.5HP horizontal shaft electric start engine made in China (Honda clone), and a two cylinder vertical compressor pump (similar to the no- v twin on Harbor Freight).

33X12.50X15 Goodyear MTR's with about half the tread left on 15X8 steel "wagon wheels."

One spare alloy wheel from an '86 4Runner.

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of now.

ALL PRICES ARE MAKE OFFER, BUT PLEASE BE FAIR!!!  I'd also consider selling the whole shebang for $4500, OBO.  All it needs to be legal is a cat and bumpers.  No title, but I can produce a bill of sale; shouldn't be an issue if you want to register it since it's a few days shy of being 29 years old.

I'll work on pics after the holidays.

Sliders are $270 new + shipping.  Since mine were cut off the truck but still very serviceable, I'll do $150 + shipping.  PM me your zip for a shipping quote.

As far as the lift... I apologise, but I didn't think it out when I posted initially.  If I sell the lift, it'll be on jack stands, and I have limited room to store stuff and work on it.  Ideally, I'd like to sell the suspension last.  Also, the front crossmember won't be sold with the lift since I have no way to cut it off any more.  In light of all this, I'd sell the lift for $1300 + shipping, but would prefer to wait 'till at least the driveline is sold so I don't have to worry about taking that out when it's on jack stands.

I can ship everything, but it'll be on your dime.  :)  The front axle rebuild kit is already installed in the axle...

I can sell just the adapter, just the front case, just the rear, or any combination of the three.  With or without shifters... you tell me what you want, what you're going to pay and your zip, and I'll get you a shipping quote as soon as possible.  :)

Sky driveline brake- $175, shipped.

hi- steer: $300
Front 3rd: pending, but if it doesn't go down, you're next up.
rear 3rd: $1100
brake lines: $65

Shipping for the steering, one 3rd and the lines would probably be around $100 and add another $50 to that for the front 3rd.  Kinda shitty, but this stuff is heavy.  :(  If you can find a better deal, I'm all for it.

21 spline, and as far as the swapping, do some searching.  I don't know what you're swapping into.  All I know is that it'll bolt two 21 spline gear drive t-cases together.

I'd prefer to keep the lift together, or at least all four springs as a set, and would like to sell the driveline and axles first so I don't have :pokinit: laying all over the garage.  Lockers are still available, and they were built by Marlin, and off the top of my head, I believe they use Yukon gears.

Just a note to all- I don't hold parts or take payments/ trade.  Whoever gets me the money first, wins.  It's only fair for everyone that way.  I don't take trades because I need about four grand to rebuild the tranny in my Ram.  Apparantly, Dodge thinks that the 48RE should be a fusable link when mated to a Cummins.

Located on Hill AFB, UT (about 35 minutes north of Salt Lake City).  Engine and harness, no header, with accessories- $1200.  Cost me $1500 in parts alone and another $300 to deck and line bore the block and bore it .020 over, plus my time tearing it down, cleaning it and putting it back together.  All internals was bought brand new.  I figure it makes about 140 HP and 180 lb. ft. and doesn't burn oil and I can take a video of it running if you'd like.

hey pumkin toy you can buy a 23 spline coupler from marlin and swap it to 23 spline it's not hard to do but the crawl box will need to be broken down.

thats what i thought i could do. any idea how much one is? cant find it on there website.  i would have to get the marlin adaptor pretty cheap to make it worth buying another coupler too.   :psss: inchworm has their dual adaptors on sale for 199 each right now
