:help:Well heres what i got. Its an 85 pickup with a 22r stock 5-speed trans and stock t-case with stock gears. My problem is every once in a while when i drive my truck in 4 hi when i go to shift back into 2wd at a complete stop in N i cant shift it back into 2wd. So i have to push the shift lever as hard as i can and when it finaly goes into 2wd all u hear is a clunk but than everything is fine.
:wall: :wall: :wall:  i can assure you after abusing the shift forks in such a way all is NOT fine :shake:

Any idea on what would cause this or if this is normal? or is there a certain way to do this? All my previous trucks were all push button.  :dunno:
the cause is you driving in 4wd on hard surfaced roads,  it is not designed to drive like a "push button car"  :slap:

NEVER drive with it in 4hi or 4 lo on hard surfaces, whether it be hard packed clay, granite or asphalt DONT DRIVE IN 4HI ON HARD SURFACES

if it binds up again just back up till it smoothly slides into 2wd
