so how long are the f150's?how much froward is the front hanger from the factory one? and why did you moved your rear shackle forward?i think your running a square front shaft right?are you having any pinion angle problems with the stock front hanger and banana shackles?are you using first gen main leafs or 2nd gen?
i know that a lot of questions but i just about have everything i need to do my suspension and hysteer and im going to do it all at once. thanks for the answers

The rear springs are 57" long and I think I moved the fron hanger forward around 11".  the rear shackle hanger needed to move forward in order to keep the rear axle centered in the wheel well.  Yeah I am running a square front dshaft.  I am running 5.5" shackles and my pinion angle is fine IMO.  The front pack is first gen main leaves with some cut 2nd gen leaves added along with some other stock 1st gens all rears of course.

Not too bad I did notice it when I was in the sand and in some snow once.  but in the mud and rocks no axle wrap.  I'm happy enough with them.

Nope I've been pretty happy with them.  I don't do crazy rock crawling though.  If I did I would've frenched in the front hanger right now it hangs down pretty good, but it hasn't affected me any yet :)

put my duals in yesterday.  it was WAY easier than I anticipated.  I drove it in at 9 am and pulled the case, built my crawl box, installed the duals and cut down my shaft, and drove it out at 8 pm.  Had to run to my cousin's to use his welder twice too.  I LOVE THE DUALS!  It can idle up some steep hills in low-low. :)

I'm running a flat pitman arm.

Yes, 2.28s in both cases, I couldn't imagine 4.7s for what I use my truck for.

where did you get that flat pitman arm? so you like the duals with the stock 2.28? i heavnt decide on duals with 2.2b's or just a single 4.7 cause of cost. havent decided yet. what setup did you do for the crossmember?

i was reading on your first page that yu can have boomerang shackle's made? how much would they be? and what did you use to cut the toyota rear leafs down for ruf?

Its a TG pitman arm, I'll be running TGs dual skid as well(for now my stock one is just bolted to the crawl box).  I could make you a set of boomerang shackle plates only, for $35 shipped.  They'll be whatever specs you want mine are 3/8" thick, 5.5" long and 18 mm holes.  You'll need to make your own spacers and buy new bushings.  I don't think I'd like a single case with 4.7s cause I think it'd just be too slow all the time.  I'm 100% happy with dual 2.28s.  I used a thin cut off wheel in a grinder to cut my RUFs.

There is my half door installed.  Still need to finish my other one.  Since this picture I installed bucket seats out of a 96 Acura Integra that I scored for $50 off Craigslist.  I just ordered bobby long's chromoly hub gears this morning.  Dropped off a driveshaft at the driveline shop to make me one that won't vibrate abpove 40 mph.  Planning on going wheeling next weekend so maybe I'll have some more wheelin pics :)

Went wheelin on the 4th.  No major breakage but I did manage to crack my rear housing around the passenger side perch.  I ran my first 5 too.  That is what the video is.

If someone wants to let me in on how to embed a video I will but until then here is a link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjcPmEbhDUs

While I was welding up my rear housing I decided to make some changes to my rear springs.  I cut down the overloads to 10" and I moved my shackle hanger forward a bit.  Now my shackles sit at about a 45* angle.

Hurry up and mount those! I want to see how much trimming you are going to have to do.  I am just about to buy a set of those for myself.  So did you go with 4.88 or 5.29s?

5.29s.  I took my fender off this evening and it looks like I might be able to get away with minor trimming.  Might use a little BFH action also.

Hey rocksnail, do you have any pictures of your truck?  It is set up the same as mine, wondering what 39.5s would look like on it.

got them mounted up.  I cut up the drivers side floor board last night.  I went all the way back to the body mount and also took 3/4" out of the body mount on the cab.  I'll have to cut some more on my fenders.  Where the 2 bolts go on the bottom by the door, well now there is only one :)

Didn't think to take a measurement  :_oops:

Thanks for all the kind words guys.  I am now stuck between upgrading to 1 tons or beefing up my toyota axles.  I could sell my front and rear both e-locked with 5.29s and longs with his hub gears and have a nice start towards tons.  I just hate to dump a ton of money in the toys if I'm eventually going to go tons.  Any opinions?

I have a great idea, but the one tons out from under my k5, or buy the entire truck. I'm asking 1800 for the entire truck. It's listed under rigs for sell. It has a 454 in it. If you bought it and parted it out you would get the axles for nothing.

I would if you lived closer.  I have a 74 K5 with a built 454 that just sits around
