Alignment
« on: Nov 13, 2004, 03:53:11 PM »
I just went down and bought new pitman and idler arms... i also need 2 tie rod ends, which im also asking where i could get some good tire rod ends for an 86 runner stock steering. And then, once i get all 4 of these things on, how do i got about doing the alignment. I know you measure the rear tires from somewhere to somewhere and turn the tie rod ends until the tires are the same front and back? am i correct on this? any help is appriciated

Thanx
Jareth

count the threads on the ones on the truck and then when you put the new ones on put them the same. that will get you close and take it to the alinment shop

counting the threads doesnt always work, sometimes you'll get a aftermarket  thats not the same but "works"

just measure the back of the front tires,  then the front of the front tires,  ok,  like at 3oclock and 9oclock,

usually, for the money, NAPA steering components are about the best you can get.  All of our NCP line is Dana stuff...
