toy hub install?

i heard of swaping the hubs off a ifs to strait axel gives you wider front end. does any body know how it works what parts do i need. i have a complete ifs front end.

Yes it does. It's the rotor, hub (the main part of the hub that the bearings are in) and ifs caliper.
You gain the width and vented rotors. The down fal is that the rotor doesn't contact the entire brake pad. It misses the last 3/16" or so. You also need a spacer that spaces the rotor inboard approx. 5/8". Do a search hear, and on pirate4x4.com there is a ton of info already out there, and lots of pics too. There are also several variations too.

That is the swap that Kamirtoy posted that has all the details that you'll need.  By leaving the ifs rotors as Fireball stated you do infact loose surface area.  But if you use common cruiser rotors you dont lose any contact as they are the same OD as solid axled rotors.  I did the hub swap on my 90, I like how it turned out and I dont have to run any spacers.  If you want to space the rotors back more like factory www.sky-manufacturing.com makes them for $200

Holy , they're charging $200. When I did mine (long before anyone had a kit) I had my local machinest make some for me, it cost me$75. That's some good mark up.

I just did this swap on my truck, and I used the stock rotors and calipers.  Yeah it's cool and the "right" way to do it, but honestly it wasn't worth the money IMO.  But if my truck was a DD, I'd feel more secure with running the widening kit vs. spacers.
