Ive always thought it would be awsome to have two front axles to create 4WS.
would this work or is the geometry going to be way off? im thinking of doing this setup on my 4runner if im not missing something here.. :help:

It would work fine.  Exept that the pumpkin is not centered.

or how about splice the balls onto a rearend housing (if theyre the same ID) and then do full hydraulic steering that'd be tits!

You would also need to narrow the frame!  :yesnod:

Or you could drop some serious coin and have Diamond axles made with Longfield custom axles.

I dont see how the frame would need to be shortend, knuckle arms would probly be ideal for the inside of the axle instead of facing other open side for clearence reasons?

He didn't mean shorten the frame he meant narrow it so when/if your flexing and turning your tires dont rub the frame

reverse cut gears :dunno:

nah thats not a problem think about it, the pinion gear spins the same direction theirfore you could rotate the axle 360 degrees.  i think what needs to be done is flip the steering arms on the knuckle to face the tcase instead of the back bumper.

OH are you tying to do this :DD

Is there not a way to tie the rear steer in with the front steer?

if there was that seems lika a bad idea since you usualy want to go a different direction with the rear than the front, at least from my experiance anyway,

Why would you want to?
The idea is to leave them seperate and control the rear with a valve.  That way it can go straight (like a normal rear axle) or you can turn it into or out of the turn, depending upon what you are trying to do.  I've wanted to build a rear steer/4wheel steering truck since I was a little kid.  It would be Awsome on the rocks!!
