i done the RUF ( rear up front) and crossover steering. the problem i got is that when i flex and turn hard the pitman arm would get stuck onto the leaf spring. plus my tie rods would also hit the springs. just wonderin if anyone else has done this mod and having the same problems. oh and is a 83 toyota

are you running a flat pitman arm
have you adjusted the steering stops
did you move the steering box foward

and discuss.....

pitman arm from kit not flat yes i moved the box forward so the tierods would be parallel no bump stops i was thinking either adding a leaf so the spring would have more arch or welding on front spring mounts to change the spring angle. any ideals?

I have my box forward, ruf & had the same problem on my 87 4Runner until I installed the bump stops. Problem solved

The tie rod hits your springs at full droop.
Solution: Don't droop so far.

The pitman arm hits your springs and breaks of your zerk fitting.
Solution: Raise end of pitman arm, or lower front spring mount.
