Few busted & dislocated ribs.... here's her story:

QuoteOK so i left my house at 130 yesterday heading for Walgreen's. didnt even get a half a mile down the road when my jeep jerked to the right ( felt like a blow out ) so i countered and pulled the wheel but I didn't have enough time to react. i hit a smud pole dead center to my jeep. took out a power line that landed on my jeep. air bags deployed. i crawl out ( realize im in the middle of grant line rd ) crawl to the side of the road. i look over to see a live power line under my jeep and one on top of my jeep 6 inches from where my head was. some lady called 911 and another guy got my phone out of the jeep. i call rob. fire department gets there blocks the road off ( including rob doesn't let him by ) ambulance gets there puts me on a gearny i call rob, hes following me. they go code 3 (lights and speeding ) cuz i cant breathe my ribs are broke stabbing my lungs, we get to kaiser south and i have 12 people working on me at once and no one is listening to me ( like a bad movie ) 20 minutes later they let rob in the room and my mom and kids are in the waiting room already. 8 hours later i left with cracked and dislodged floating ribs. HORRIBLE PAIN and a lot of freakin whiplash.

i will know in the next 3 days what happens to the jeep. but rob and the tow truck guy say its gone. coils got bent, harmonic balancer is broken in half, radiator is crushed into the engine, cranks busted, both airbags deployed, front grill bumper and lights are sitting behind the jeep right now, windshield is busted from the body twist and the body is bent above both front doors. tow truck driver said CHP thought i hit the down power line and it pulled me into the pole.

Glad she made it through relatively well, but it kinda sounds like the old 'dropped the X, bent down to find it and...' accident  :dunno:  Who is it anyway?

Nah - the driver behind her said her front end was sparking, and there were cables under her jeep after she hit the pole. CHP is saying there was a line down that got caught under her car and that's what threw her off the road. Speculation.

How would the cable get under the car when the wires fell AFTER she hit the pole, if it wasn't already on the ground?

She's a good friend of mine, winner of the hard luck award at MCR8. She drives a Sami but still tries to buy from Marlin whenever she can. A bunch of the folks who went to MCR met her/camped with her.

Strange, very strange things, happen during accidents, and things end up in places you'd never expect.  I'm no crash analyst though, yet  :gap:

 gotcha.  In that case, my apologies 86rustbucket. Becky is a good friend of mine, which is why I was defensive.

well, that's certainly nice to hear for once.  All too often it's the innocent party that gets hurt, as you said.
