Wire questions! 94 Pick-up
« on: Sep 28, 2009, 04:23:10 PM »
so if you look at my build, You see i did a cab swap. I just hooked up the battery and everything seems to be working, lights, gauges, but... when i turn the key to "start" nothing happens. it doesn't make a click noise, as if i needed to bang on the starter. One other thing I don't have the gas tank in, would the gas tank connectors break a circuit and not let the truck start?

(just a test run i know it won't run if there isn't a gas tank in the truck, checking to see if the starter would pop)

i dont think it would. theres a plug under the pass side seat that runs the back half of truck (lights, fuel pump, etc) mine came unplugged so same as  no tank and the truck would still turn over and would start if i used starting fluid.

do you have 12 volts to the starter? are the connector tight? if you put power to the key wire on the starter does it still click? maybe your starter just failed. i would check the connections first
nothing to be said

Could it be the clutch cancel switch possibly?
