Hello from Front Range Colorado
« on: Sep 27, 2009, 09:55:21 PM »
Hey guys,

I signed up to get a question answered about my dual cases, but I'm sure I'll get plenty of help in other things too.

My name is Josh, and I bought a 1988 Extended Cab Pickup about 2 months ago. Dual Marlin Cases, Front and Rear E-lockers, 35's, RUF/Chevy for springs, 5.29 axle gears and the 22re engine. Upgraded from a Samurai after getting frustrated with the carbed tiny engine. Here's a pic or two of my rig:

Holy Cross posing on Clevland Rock (didn't go any further up it then that since I was on my own)

Going up French Creek on Holy Cross

and a bit of an "oops" I had on Old Chinaman Gulch

Ya'll seem pretty cool on here, and Marlin makes some great stuff, so I'm sure I'll get something out of my newest forum registration. Oh, and the group I usually go wheeling with (as often as possible) is www.frontrange4x4.com. Its a pretty cool group of people, and is specifically tailored towards people who just want to get out wheeling without joining a wheeling club, and is very non-exclusionary as far as rigs go. Pretty cool to see, what with all the hardcore clubs like MHJ and Rising Sun in Colorado. Definitely a great fit for some, but I a bit overbearingly controlling for my tastes. I look forward to seeing some of you guys on the trails.

Josh

Welcome!  I'm in Pueblo, a couple of hours south of you.  Holy Cross is one of my favorite trails!  We run it every year at the Colorado 4Runner Jamboree.  It's Colorado's biggest Toyota event!  You need to try and come to the CO4RJ-10 event!  We'll be making plans for it in the next couple of months.

Also, we have our own Colorado section here at Marlin.  Come check out the "Colorado" thread in the CO section and introduce yourself there!

About Front Range 4x4, I'm not real fond of "Brody" after meeting him the morning we ran BV Carnage and then seeing what he posted about the CO4RJ in this thread.  All the :pokinit: talking about the organization of the Jambo was uncalled for (I organized the event) since it didn't seem like he had all the information about the event to start with.  I couldn't post a reply to his trash talking posts so I had to have Scotty at Addicted Off Road post up for me.

You still around   I saw you guys had one hell of a day on Chinamans yesterday.  My club ran it the day before (11 rigs) and 8 of us got off the mtn. @ 4.  The other 3 took 2 hours longer after my buddy sheared the passenger side steering arm pin in the top of the upper trunion bearing.
