RECHARGING MY A/C

WHATS UP GUYS
I GOT AN 87 RUNNER I WANT TO RECHARGE MY A/C I BELIEVE IT STILL HAS R-12.  IVE HEARD THAT I NEED TO GET SOME KIND OF A KIT T CONVER IT TO 134 IS THIS TRUE OR CAN I JUST USE 134.

A place here will evac any remaing R-12, convert to R-134 and Charge it for like $160

The only parts that need to be changed are the Schrader valves used to fill and evac the system because the fittings used to fill 134 are a different size than the r12 type. I just had this done. In the beginning of the transition over to 134, it was believed that the o rings and soft lines needed to be swapped, but it's not so.

R12 still exists..........

If your system is just low, and otherwise in good shape, just have R12 added.

Werd, there's no sense in switching from a great refridgerant to a sub par one.  There's also supposed to be a newer upgrade from 134, something like supercool.  I hear it works great too.

R-12 is much colder for sure.
