My "NEW" 81

I was at the junkyard the other day, tryin to get a taillight lens, they wanted 30 bucks. Screw that, so I was pulling out, and this old guy flags me down, and starts talkin to me bout toyotas, sayin hes got an 82 that just sits in a field. So naturally I asked him if he wanted to sell it, he said sure, for 800 bucks. I got his number and talked to my girl about it, she wanted it, so I went to look at it. He says it runs, but someone screwed with the vac lines, smog guy said it needed a new egr. Hasnt been reg'd since 02, but he thinks its on non-op, clear title and has the pink slip. Its in ok shape, I told him Id give im 600 for it, he agreed, and is letting me make payments every 2 weeks. Hes so confident it will run, that he towed it 2 miles down the road to his house tonight, and is going to charge the battery and clean it up, so this friday I can start it, and get it all ready to go. i think it's going to be hard for you to fit in the first gen.    or is it for your girl??     you look like a big boy.
six hundy is a good deal any where you can find one specially if it runs.     good buy and good luck.  :biggthumpup:

thats not me in the picture, im 6'0 180 lbs, i fit in my 81 just fine, i like a tight fit, but yes my girl will probably get this one

I went to pay the man yesterday, and start the truck, hooked everything up and it fired right up, its got a little issues, but nothing that cant be fixed, I was shocked to find the ac blowing ice cold. My plans for this truck are to keep the 30's on it for a while, and just put put it around town as my dd, it even has AC!! Ill build my other 81 while I drive this one. Im a broke sob tho, so my build has been VERY slow, mostly not a build, just a whole lot of breaking!
