Need 1981 Toyota parts
« on: Aug 31, 2009, 07:31:20 AM »
I am in need of all the 1981 Toyota emission parts for my second trekker.  It runs, but stalls when I push the gas.  I need to sell it sooner rather than later, so I need to get the emissions back on it.  I need everything from the passenger side fender junk, the brass tubing, and everything else.  let me know if you have what I need.  I might be in the market for a stock running carb too.  The one that is on it is not, from what I can tell, the original.

I also need to get the adapter sleeve between the tranny and transfer case.  Just the little splined sleeve that mounts between the two cases.

I should have everything you need, I pulled everything off my 81 truck when I went to propane and I also have a complete 22R motor from an 83 truck.  So between the 2 I can send you everything.  I'm leaving for work the next 2 days so it will be Thursday or Friday before I can gather everything together and send you pics, if you can wait that long I will be glad to gather it up for you.  As far as price I really don't know what a fair price would be, so make an offer and we can go from there.

I can wait till the end of the week... no problem.  I will try and post the manual diagram and some part #'s and pics by then to help.  Some of the 1981 federal emission stuff is specific to that year only, like the brass tubing.  Thanks, talk to you at the end of the week.

Here is some pics of what I have found so far.  May have more, don't quite remeber everything that I took off.

The carb is in good condition if you are interested in it as well.

It looks like the correct parts, but I will double check to make sure.  Does the carb run?  I might be interested in it either way.  There is one emission piece missing that you might have;the multi-hose that goes from the fender to the brass tubing.  It has 2 bolts on each end. It does look like the 2 ends are there, just not the hose. I don't see it pictured.

What would the prices be too please?

Can you get a diagram or a pic of the part you are talking about?

The carb does run and is in good condition.  I would take 80.00 shipped for the carb.

As far as the emission stuff I really don't know what it's all worth, but I will give you a price of 65.00 shipped.  Let me know what you think on the carb and/or emission items.

I am interested in some new parts now.
1. I want some of the original tires H78-15.  Most likely on a spare one of you still has.  Local would be best too because of shipping cost, but I will entertain the idea of shipping too.
2. I would be interested in original 6 spoke SR5 rims in either white or chrome.  Must be stamped with a production date 1979 to 1985.  79-85 rims have a zero back set and later rims will be a different back set.

Let me know what you have and then we can talk.

Good luck man, I have a perfect condition original spare off my 80 and would totally run it if I found 3 in as good of condition!

I have two of the spare tire H78 15's but need 2-3 more in decent shape.  Not for running on my truck, but since I am restoring my Trekker, it would be nice to have a set for showing.  The rims would be extras if I find them since I have a set of chrome and a set of painted.  Just need more, more, more :hammerhead:

CrazyYota- very nice set.  The rear hub centers tell me they came off a post 84 truck since I dont see any paint on them.  Very pretty, shiny buttons- :king: of bling

I did some research on the original H78-15 tires that were standard on the the first gen trucks in 1981. Turns out that they are a snow tire.  They wouldnt be the best option for driving around, but they are cool.  They are the same tire pictured on the trucks in the 1981 stock sales brochure that I have.

So I got the carb and emmisions equipment in the mail today.  Very pleased.  Thank you.  I have decided to skip the h78 -15 tires as they would be too old to even safely mount on a vehicle according to the tire store.  I still looking for an uncut wood grain dash bezel and a stock antenna for my 81 Trekker.
