Fuel cut solenoid

I have my fuel cut solenoid wired to my battery. I didnt have it wired to the key for the simple fact I drive my truck everyday, and it never gave me an issue. Well it sat for about 3 months, and I went to start it, had a dead battery. Put a new battery in it, and it fired up fine. The other day, it died at a stop, would start fine, but wouldnt run without constant throttle. I checked fuel cut solenoid, It wouldnt click, tried for days, still no click. left it unhooked for the night, went out the next day, it clicked. Hoooked it up, it ran fine, then died later that day. Wouldnt click, tried for days. Left it alone, it clicked. Wtf is goin on here, is my solenoid bad? I would imagine so, but I dunno. What would make it go out? Age, me having it constantly on? Next time ill wire it to the key. Let me know what you guys think, sry for the long post, thx.

wire it to a key ON circuit ONLY,  if you had it on the battery  thats why it wont work cause its fried

wired it with its own ground and to the key, and now it hasnt given me a problem for 2 days of wheelin

I have mine hooked up to the ignition. If it is constantly getting power that thing is done. Especially if it is aftermarket POS from auto parts store. Those only last a few years anyways. Good Luck!
