Frame paint

Fellas:

Saw some surface rust on the frame going to sand it out and repaint.What have you guys been using on your frames?

Its more expensive then most paints but check out Por15.  It dries VERY hard and can take a beating.  Works great on axles and frames.

i'd use POR 15 or some good ole rustolem. or you could get some cheap rattle can bed liner lol

POR15 has some great stuff I think its called chassis black or something like that, cheaper than the actual POR15 and not damadged by UV.  I used it on my dump trucks frames and 8 years later still looks great.

Just did the frame on my 86 with rustolem rust converter. Looks killer. Kind of satin black, easy to use, cheap @ 5$ a can.  :disturbed:

I came across a product at the auto parts store called Chassis Coat. It's quite a bit cheaper than Por 15 and it is basically the same product.

My buddy uses Hammerite in a can. Very tough, brushes on with a paint brush or roller or gun if you thin it out. Not that expensive for what you get if you buy it in a can like that.

if all else fails, 3M undercoating.
yeah sprayed my front bumper with 3M Dynapro and it works.  that  :pokinit: is tough
22RE .30 over, mild cam, K&N, LCE header, 2.25'' pipe, high flow cat, Magnaflow.
 Marlin 1200LB clutch

 no substitute for 4wheel drive.
