if it has snowed enough the loon lake entrance will be closed to 4x4 traffic so the skiers and snowmobilers can use it.
4x4's should continue up icehouse road and use from where they stop plowing to wentworth.
but if its not closed off yet have fun.
i like wheeling up there in the snow.
adds a whole new twist the the experience.

I know your asking about Rubicon but I talked to a friend last night that lives in Penryn and he said theres 6' at Fordyce towards the top  :dunno: if that helps.

I went to the Rubicon today.  Wentworth Springs is plowed all the way to Uncle Tom's cabin.  There is some snow on the road from then on to Icehouse oad but not a lot.  Icehouse road is plowed i believe all the way to the first damn if i remember currectly.  You can get to the rubicon even in a mild 4x4.  We went through Gatekeeper all the way to the slabs were we stopped and played around then we went back.  the most amount of snow that i found was only about 2 feet deep.

Loom Lake Winter Closure for over the snow travel is from November 1st thru April 1st. FOTR is asking for a voluntary compliance in staying off the road to the spillway. The x-country skiers like to use that road and until something else is done, we ask that you use Wentworth Springs to access the Rubicon.
