Well i converted my corners to turn signals for the inspection, cause i had my others off. And well a temp thing becomes a perm thing, you know how that goes. But now, they are real dim and blink uber fast. What can i do to fix this? is tehre a bulb i have to buy or a wire i have to splice or what?

Thanx

All you gotta do is run a different bulb that has a higher wattage rating. The resistance in the bulb is not enough. Im guess its a smaller bulb than the stock blinkers?

Change the blinker can to an electric version.  Napa carries them I believe the Napa # is el12.

Yes, the bulb is much smaller, but what does this thing do? does it replace the bulb or what?

No thats the flasher, its a little relay that makes the bulbs to go blinky blinky

Listen, you will not get it right until you do something about the extra current.....

Actually since my physics class is going over DC circuits and currents, I was going to ask my teacher how to do this without changing the bulb. But I didnt get a chance today to ask him....

If you put a brighter bulb in that smaller lense, it's gonna melt so that's not good.

I thought about running some resistors, but that will just drop the potential voltage... It will make your blinking rate slow down, which is good, but the light will still be dim.

hmmmmm....................... :headscratch:

I did it on my truck but it requires some work.  I bought two universal 1157 light bulb sockets and then cut out the backs of my parking light lenses so the bulb sockets would fit.  Then I mounted them into the light housing with 1157 bulbs and ran the wires to the socket.  I have the turn signal wired to the brighter filament in the bulb, and the parking light to the dim one so that it wouldn't melt my lense.  My blinkers blink at a normal rate too. Mike I think that you are forgetting that the electronic blinker module is designed for extra current, as its sole purpose in life is to make your blinkers stay at a normal rate when you add a trailer which increases the load on a normal heated element module.

hey fireimp,  why you do that, ??   anyway,  i thinkm the part WT told you about will fix the problem, but u should upgrade your fiting like blyota said, this way both work, sigs and markers,  look at my truck bumper, i used stand alone lights for my turn sigs

Hey I think I dont know what Im talking about sometimes :pokinit:

But I think extra current in an additional circuit is ok, but he has increased the current flow in the existing factory circuit by using a bulb with less resistence, so the element module is getting more current and its poping faster because it still has the same resistance, so ya get fast blinkers.

I ran into the same prob with mine. I added some clearance lights as turn sigs to the front bumper I made that run the std. 194 bulb  and they blink real fast I treid different flashers etc and nothing has worked. i think the solution is to go w/ a 1156 or 1157 type of bulb I will try this on Mon and i will let you know if it helps.

Well I've got both on mine. I saw the page Chris wrote about two years ago (maybe more) and as I was about to put on my Smithy front bumper and thought the way Smithy said to do the T/S was  :stopit:
I did as it saids there. then with the trailer I pull I needed to get reid of the bimetal blinker and I now have the NAPA one. it is sweet. Hell the hole thing is sweet.  :twocents:
