exhaust probs

Fellas:

I have stock exhaust on my runner when I put the window in the back down all the fumes come in,What can I do to get rid of this?Reroute the exhaust :yikes:need some input :inthedark:

How is the exhaust it's self ?   rusted out? good shape?  what yr runner is it?

How about the tail pipe  is it straight    maybe try a turndown

I think your best option may be to route it out like it would be stock, but if it stinks you may want to address any real issues first.

I had this same problem. If your exhaust is cut under the truck or points out the back the you'll get a lot of fumes due the the wind turbulance at the tailgate.

the exhaust is in good shape in stock position but maybe I will try a turn down and run it to where it blows to the ground.

I wonder if I run it out the side it will not get sucked in the rear window? :headscratch:

Mine always did this due to the rear skirts/valences being removed (has an aftermarket tube bumper).  No fix other than turning on the fan and opening the front windows to provide enough fresh air.  Or just keeping it closed.

The owners manual doesn't recommend driving with the rear window open.
