:headshake:   everybody is gonna say RUF and 63's  :shake:

you can get some 2wd chevy rear leaf springs  or some 2wd F150 rear springs and mix them into your stock springs and get yourself 3-4 inches of lift and still be able to use your stock steering

just DONT flip the ball on the Jarm, ive seen flipped balls break off get a drop drag link and go

thats what is called "Rears up front"

you would use the top 2 leaves of your rear pack and 3 or 4 leaves from a f150 or s10 pack BUT this moves the axle forwaRD  and requires you to get hi steer

you do have to remove your springs, take the spring packs apart and remove the top two leaves from your stock packs, then use the 2wd chevy or ford leaves to replace the leaves you removed from your stock packs

You will also likely need new spring center pins and u-bolts.

You wont need new shocks, but your old stock shocks wont really work well either, it all depends on how much lift you get w/the remodeled springs and the travel the shocks have now.  You will likely end up with the stock shocks maxed out at ride height if you get 3-4" of lift from rebuilding the springs.

General rule of thumb is for every inch you move up you need to widen your track width by 1.5", to maintain a good center of gravity, and is why it is recommended to lift as little as needed and cut what hits.

What size tire are you planning on running?

If you are not going Hi steer then look in the classifeds on here or craigslist for aftermarket steering correction i.e. drop drag links and or pitman arms, steering is something you do not want to go half way on.  The only problem is if you are mixing and matching springs you may end up being stuck in the middle so to speak for most aftermarket steering correction.  Just do it right, no Presidential solutions for steering.

What lift is on it now?

If you are just looking to level out the truck, correct spring sag, get a little more lift, you don't need 3-4 inches, adding one or two springs from a Chevy(non 63" pack) in amongst your stock leave pack should do trick.

Toyota Main leaf
Chevy  Main leaf (cut to fit) about 1/2 shorter on each side than the Toyota main
Toyota
Chevy  (if needed, may want to do just the main, let the springs settle than add more)
Toyota

Don't cut the new center spring bolts until you are sure you have added all the springs you want.

The oem u-bolts are usually good for 1-2 extra springs, given the age of your truck you would want to replace w/new ones, if the PO put a lift spring on it already than the newer u-bolts are likely o.k.

To do all of the springs you will need two sets of used leaf packs, 4 new pins, a cut-off tool and grinder, and possible new u-bolts.

When I bought my 4runner it had a rancho 3 inch lift on it suck ass. I put hysteer on it and put 4 inch wrangler springs up front. I got alot of flex and clearance of the wheel wheels. You will need to go hysteer but the it is not that bad if you by a ifs steer box used and trade it in for a new one at your local parts store. if you are going to wheel mild or hard hysteer works best on and offroad. I am running 33's on mine and had no issues with clearance a little rubbing but that will b fixed. If you really are hard for keep the crappy stock steering I would rebuild it and do the ruf leaf pack set up. I made a leaf pack for my buddies 88 in the rear and got around 4 inches of lift.

More than likely, and if you go with 63 in the rear you will have to move your spring mounts.

You want 4" total lift?  Or 4" higher than your current rancho lift?

just DONT flip the ball on the Jarm, ive seen flipped balls break off get a drop drag link and go

I've seen the ball break off the jarm with drop drag link multiple times.  (non-flipped jarm)  Super flexy suspensions just are not friendly on push/pull steering.  Always carry spares, they will break.

If you already have a 3" Rancho lift and want another 3-4" than yes you are going to need new shocks.  However wanting 6-7" of spring lift to run 33's seems a bit foolish, and will look really funny.

If you just want to rebuild the springs you have now and get an additional 1" lift and better ride quality, the shocks you have now will be fine.  You can always buy longer ones when the time comes to replace the ones you have now, or when you have the extra money to do so.
