My buddy is looking for a new truck.  He is finally ready to step up to a 4x4.  He is looking at toyotas, and he has about 3000 to spend.  What would you suggest he look for?  Also, he would like fuel injection, when did toyota start putting that in their trucks??

get a late 85, came with efi and the straight axle
87 runner, 4" trailmaster lift, 33" TSL/SX, 5.29's V6 e-locker, 22re that cost too much

Make sure it has fuel injection though.  Not all 85's came with it.  But ya, like Mike D said.

SWAMPER

first of all thats a lot of miles for 3000 bucks I'd give him 2000 bucks for it and if he likes to wheel a carb makes it real hard to do so expicially on hills and they suck in the dunes.

:headscrath: for 3000 he could just get an EFI and remember that most of the time when you buy a truck with some mods you end up changing them after all....carb is ok but if you get to a certain hill or something that is kinda steep your carb will want to die on you

All you got to do is keep your foot on the pedal. Other then that it only dies when it is on it's side hehehe.  I found out the hard way, but also the fun way.

SWAMPER

Well yeah flooring the skiny pedal helps but sometimes you cant floor it
