hey you guys give me some instruction on the easiest and cleanest way to beb a bed on a 94. what do you guys use to cut with and if any of you have done this  on your truck how much did you take off?

FIREBALL

Took off 12" on my 85. Used a sawsall and a jig saw with metal blade. Then butt welded with a mig. Take your time welding back togeather. The sheet metal is thin, and will warp very easily. Tack a couple of spots, then go to the other side and tack a few, then back, etc.

I took 10 inches out of my old bed.  I used a sawzall to cut it and then butt welded it back together.

KYOTA

cut 17" outta mine, used a 4 1/2 grinder with cut off wheel

Measure it twice, then measure it again, then cut. I used a square off of the top of the bed and made my line. Then I measured from my first line and marked the amount I was taking off to make my second line. I measured in multiple spots to make sure everything was accurate. Then cut on the rear most line first from the top down to the floor of the bed. Do that on both sides. Once you have a cut down both sides you can use a string from one cut to the other as a guide to mark the floor of the bed. Then you can cut the floor and repeat the steps on the section your taking off. Just remember that the most important thing is that your lines/cuts are parellel. It will fit back togeather much easier.

I wish it was mine.  But it is my friend's sister's boyfriend's pocket rocket.  I didn't even get to ride it.  back to the topic.   I also cut the frame at the end of the shackle with a torch and grinded it smooth.

i used a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder with a cut off wheel and i measured and snapped a chalk line to get a straight line to follow
