Truck sounds like it is going to tear itself apart when I start it hot. (after fueling at gas station etc...) Happens for a second or two then it smooths out and all is good. It runs great, just sounds bad at start.

86 short box 22re 5 speed. Sorry, not a morning person.

my 86 4runner does the same thing with 292,000 miles but the noise goes away so Im not to concerned.

Does it idle really slow too, after the hot start for a couple of minutes ?

Yes sir, slow then returns to normal after a few seconds.

Mine does that too.....

I think it's vapor lock with the fuel injection.

The fuel vaporizes in the fuel line after a hot shutdown.

It runs rough and slow until the vapor gets purged.
