1984 Dual cases
« on: May 26, 2009, 08:39:40 PM »
So I got the 1984 well equipted from the org owner. The crawler is in decent shape, However I've since gone through most of it too fix, or upgrade weak parts[ in my opinion]   I took it wheeln in the snow few months back and the boxes kept binding up on me. So I got tired of this problem. I have since dropped the two cases, I decided too upgrade too the top shift etc, as well as split my rear 4:7 with the 2wd 4wd option. Sorry MC no disrespect  It was alot easier than i thought I just finished putting the cases back on the Cross Member, when I realized the guy before me only had one set of mounts holding two cases up.... :hammerhead: So the trany and cases where shifting freely in there [before]  I welded a new set of mounts on the rear case for support etc. I will post some more pics tomorrow before I put it all back in etc.  Ohh and I have too swap my bench seat out for buckets because the twin sticks are in the way....[NOT A BAD PROB TOO HAVE]  Let me know what you guys think?   Also if Im able too use my low and high range in 2wd, If I had a problem running the four lanes, could I used a Higher 2wd gear threw my transfer case etc help me pull the hill better??  I havent used it yet, I was just curious if anyone might know about this! :yesnod:

I asked the same thing about twin sticks pullin up the hill, dont think it will do much, someone told me it would be 2wd low, which would be half the speed of 2wd high, and only let you go about 30mph or so in 5th gear :dunno:
