I just had my 82 with a 22r undergo an efi swap........I used all of the harnesses from the donor truck so that means the cluster harness will only accept a cluster from a third gen (1991-1995) truck. does anyone know how to convert the NEW harness so that it will work with the OLD harness? local help would be appreciated, but at this point if someone can just explain to me how to do it I might try it myself! Im willing to pay for someone to convert it for me here in fresno if possible, I have an sr5 cluster from an 83 that i want to use.

If you still have the plugs for the 83 dash, it should be a simple as splicing them to the EFI harness.  Get wiring diagrams, and have at it one by one.  Only problem I see is that your early model dash will probably not have a Check engine light.  You will have to rig something else up for that.  Check at the truck repair shop for an engine light that mounts through the dash.  I am on the coast if you want to bring it to me.
