Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

my friend Tony and his wif Katie from Rocklin are planning on hit it with us in their sami/sidekick (built!)
we want to go all the way up to meadow lake and out to the highway (snow level permitting) so I need to know how much of a pita it would be if I left my tow rig and trailer at cisco? (where the guy will watch it) wheeled thru to meadow lake and back to the highway to leave my crawler and had someone drive me back to my tow rig?

84rocktoy

Hello Kyota,
From Meadow to the Cisco Grove campground it takes me between 1:30-2:00 hours one way. The only pain in the ass is that it's a lot of time going back and forth.
Make sure you stop by and say Hola!

4runner is getting sliders and bumpers this weekend.

if I come I plan on wheeling with you guys all weekend, is it 1.5 - 2 hours back to cisco from the highway where you turn off to go up to meadow lake? or from meadow lake itself? I have only gone that way once and do remember it being a bit of a drive from the lake down to the highway

84rocktoy

From meadow to cisco it takes me 1.5 to 2 hrs one way. I think it's 10-14 miles into meadow from the Jackson Meadows turn off.
Right on I will PM Booger (Paul) to see if he's in for a good wheeling trip

yeah I just looked at google maps and going around and coming back on hiway 20 to 80 to cisco grove is way outta the way. when we did it last time we had no choice, we went past any chance of turning around (wheeled past massive snow banks) to go back down the trail. so you guys are all going to fordyce lake to hang out?

84rocktoy

We have been trying to make it into Meadow from the hwy for the past 4 years on Memorial weekend and it has not been doable with the tow rigs.  Meadow gets a lot more snow and takes longer to melt than the eagles lake/fordyce side. I was planning on setting up Camp at Fordyce and go down the committee crossing to meadow lake or towards eagles lake to run the trail. Fordyce is nice because it's like the midway point for the Sierra Trek trail :driving:

It takes about a good hour once you reach pavement on the Meadow lake side to get back around to the the Cisco turn off. Depending on air-up/down time, how fast you run the gravel road back to the pavement(and not getting lost), 2hrs would be pretty quick, I think it would be closer to 3hrs time.

It wouldn't likely be a any quicker to run the road back to HWY 20 either, it takes good 3hrs to get from Meadow to HWY 20, and unlike the pavement section on Meadow side, the 20 side is pretty slow going.

It would likely be quicker to just run the trail back to Fordyce Lake, of course the amount of traffic/break downs on that section of the trail could delay you a lot as well.

Last year we didn't even make it to Meadow from where we camped, but the fresh Snow wheeling made up for it.  The year before you guys didn't even make it down to Fordyce due to the drifts.  Do you have any back-up plans?

Ya I got your message, I figured you would be busy today w/the county & Cinco De Mayo, so I was going to call you this evening.  Did Tehema cut the celeBration from their budget this year?

My alternator crapped out on Friday, I should have the new brushes in it tomorrow, so other than that it should be fine, except for the IFS :gap:  My back will be more of the deciding factor, it has been pretty bad since Littlebuddy's run.

What was the carnage w/the Dana 44 on your 1st gen, or have you not torn it down yet.

We got Rained out, we always have our Cinco de Mayo celebration the 1st Saturday in May rain or shine :sly:
It's funded through our 501 C 3 non profit Latino Outreach of Tehama County Inc. and I have to seek out Sponsors :shocking:
Last year we had 12 sponsors and this year we had 6 :conf:
We had it at the District Fairgrounds and they will not refund us our money rain or shine.

So your down then
You want to come up with us Friday Morning? :attention:

If we can't get into Fordyce then we will do Eagles Lake side, I know that is doable all the way into Meadow though there's a clean-up run that weekend through Eagles Lake side.

Superior is shipping out my Stub shafts this week for the 44 though I will probably be taking the runner instead

As it looks now I plan to go, either Thurs. night or Friday doesn't matter to me since it is close.  Are you going to trailer the Runner, or drive it?

$5 a day is well worth not coming back to a broken window/tossed vehicle

we need to get this hashed out so we can roll in together
