Those that have built and ran this motor, are you still happy with it?
Would you do it again?
If you would build another one what would you do differently?
Maybe some specs of your motor?

First time was a stock 81 block with a stock 76 celica head.  Very happy!  I started with a stock 20r, then the stock 22r, then the hybrid, and each time I gained more speed going up the long hill to work.  Lost a rod bearing in that one, grabbed my atk block from storage thinking it was a 22r since it had a 22r head on it, but it ended up being a .60 over 20r block so it's nearly a 22r bore.  Stuck the head on that and it's been ok, but I definately don't have the pep I did before.

If I were to do it again I'd port the head, install bigger valves and gasket match everything a little better.  I'd also ditch the ridiculously ridiculous weber.  Efi would be sweet.
RIP KYOTA

Sweet! Thankya. Didnt think of venturing to yotatech. Added the one about mixture velocity and valve sizes to the list. I like  The other thread didnt have much of anything thats not in the other threads. . . a couple of those threads just seemed to end without much explanation.

i have an 84 20r block bored 20 over.  79 20r head with 1mm oversized valves, double chain, gasket match port and polish, holley street dominator intake manifold and weber carb.  i like it, makes alot more power than stock 22r. but i still need a cam and upgraded ignition to go with it.  and i really want efi most of all!  but i like the build, i like how it runs, but for the money i spent i would probly not do it again.  i would spend the same amount of money to just do a 3rz swap.
