73 CJ5 3 speed tranny problem

I have a 3-speed out of a 73, it will not stay in 1st or reverse, when I let out the clutch, it pops out of gear, I opened it up and can't find any damage to any of the gears of syncs.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
