well, the title says it all.  is it possible, or would it just be easier to unbolt everything and pull it out piece by piece?

i think it would be easier to drop the tranny and tcase as a whole and then the motor. i remeber pulling a 22re and tranny out of a 85 celica, what a pain

I have done it that way once. Had to get the engine & tranny pointed almost at a 45 degree angle to clear the radiator support. That was with the truck front on jack stands for more room. Have not done it that way since. unbolt tranny/pull engine nowdays.

alright, sounds like i'll be seperating things

does your average tranny jack work for getting everything high enough to bolt the x-member on, or am i going to have to get creative? :flamer:

I have used the tranny jack, mine barely reaches, depends on your tire size. I have also used a 3" rachet strap in a pinch on the side of the road.

FSM says take it out as a whole unit? I tried it in the driveway and my Hoist almost couldn't handle it until I let all the air out of the tires. The angle really sucked taking it out and over the Rad support especially with the dual case set up. If stock height go for it, if lifted make sure your hoist will go high enough. :twocents:
