Lucky to be alive
« on: Apr 15, 2009, 11:26:01 PM »
One guy didnt want to run highway to hell with us and he didnt want to wait for the group that wasnt running the trail so he went off on his own. He got lost about 5 miles back from us, about 20 miles from the highway and slid into a rut on a 2 tracker mine road when it was raining. It had been raining all night and morning, and this was about noon. He came out just fine, walked 5 miles back and got a ride from someone on a quad and was waiting for us back at the highway

Its about 300 feet down to the bottom of the canyon and the back is hanging off the edge

Update:
His insurance company hired a towing company to recover the truck. Tuesday he went back with 2 trucks to get it, couldnt find it, they got lost and ended up staying the night stranded. The next morning they woke up to a flat tire on the tow truck and didnt have a spare. They manged to find the jeep with the other truck and try to pull the jeep out before they go get the spare. The hillbilly driver hooks up to the jeep and just as he starts dragging it up says "youll be outta here in 30 minutes." Right then the frame snaps on the towtruck and back goes the jeep to the resting spot. The frame rails snapped off right behind the cab and the rear of the truck ended up hanging off the side of the mountain. The guy sits there scratching his head for a minute, then calls his boss and spends the next 2 hours directing a truck back to pick them up. The towing company is going back tomorrow to recover their own trucks. They turned down the jeep recovery.

Where that is?
The things that come to those who wait, may be the things left by those who got there first.

I contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.

That's a pretty crazy series of events!
