Socialism anyone?

A SIMPLE ANALOGY from a Texas Tech University professor:


An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.



All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.  After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little.  The second test average was a D!  No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.  All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.


       It could NOT be any simpler than that...


YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

The gov't can not make everyone rich but they sure as hell can make us all poor...  I for one don't want things to be "fair"...  I like that my boss makes more money than I do, he has a huge amount of responsibility on his shoulders as a buisness owner.  He takes a couple of weeks of vacation every year to vent and relax while I am usually off work not even thinking about work 3 or 4 days a week.  That lack of responsibility on my part makes it all fair in my eye's. :greenrin:

Unfortunately, when times are bad, the people come crying to "Uncle Sam" and want aid, hand-outs, and so on.  And the numbers of people that support anything remotely conservative shrink greatly.

The net result is that the RNC and extreme right-wing politics as they have been practicing it is dead.  It will never ever have enough people or influence to win another election.   So something new needs to come out of this.  I just wonder how long it will take before the real (mostly centrist and libertarian) conservatives make a new party.
