i have a 94 4runner and want to move my steering box forward(probably a few inches). am i going to have to lengthen the steering shaft? if i do, do i have to cut it up or is there some sort of spacer i can just put on? i would rather not mess with it, so is there is a general rule of thumb as to how far i can push it forward without lengthening the steering shaft.
thanks

I pushed mine forward 1.5" and the shaft had enough slip in it to work fine without extending it. I just had to drill out the teflon like plug in the slip portion of the steering shaft so it would slide.

i moved mine as far forward it could go and i cut and  extended my steering shaft
