Matt and I have been house searching since October. We fell out of escrow back in November on a home that wasn't right for us, and in early February we opened escrow on a home here in Sac.

Well, 4 weeks after our original closing date, and a lot of stress and frustrations later, we're *finally* the new owners of a home!!!!!

We've already painted, fixed the garage door, and put carpet in the bedrooms (it's tile in the rest of the house) - and now it's a matter of moving in

3 bedroom, 1 full bath, 1 half bath, .19 lot with RV parking YEEEEAH!

Oh don't get me started on the lawn

I have plans to rubber bark the front yard, gravel the front side yard, and put in a garden in the back - hopefully the mowing will be to a minimum - but that's all long term plans cept for the garden and gravel.

congrats, glad you guys finally got everything sorted out. the rubber bark is nice, we have been redoing all of the flowerbeds at the house with it. it is really expensive though so see if anyone in your area carries it in bulk and buy it that way. when you put the gravel down maybe lay weed tarp down first

my rv access the p.o. used small river rocks on it and it has hella weeds growing through it.

Thanks for the tips! I've been tellin Matt that rototilling isn't going to do the trick. I'm planning on putting plastic down under the gravel...

Any recommendations where to get the bark Justin?

if they have it you can get it from nursery's, also places that have lanscape rock. Keep a look out sometime orchard does a buy1 get1 free and that make it somewhat affordable. the bark is $9 a bag from the store. you can get 100ft rolls of commercial grade weed tarp for 45 from home depot.

Congrats! We just put in our second offer today. Didn't get the first house due to non-permitted additions issues. This one is a short sale, so we were told not to get to excited.

Hang in there - we put in about 25-30 offers and got denied every one - even offering above the asking price in today's market

We only got accepted on 2

Yes, it is relieving - we closed almost 4 weeks late.

Fun fact: I just realized we closed escrow exactly 9 months after our wedding day

Married: 7.6.8
Closed: 4.6.8
