Knuckle Stud Options

I recently upgraded my Knuckle Studs to the ARP studs from Front Range Off Road Fabriction.  I noticed that the FROR studs are black, but the TG studs, that are advertised as ARP studs, are gold in color.  I ARP material referenced on the TG website can be found online for other ARP studs, but I couldn't find a picture to see the color.

Does anyone know if ARP has more than one material for studs or are the coatings just different?

The TG studs are more expensive, I believe, but the added machining for the torqs head would explain the difference.

the ones you bought from Front Range Off Road Are real ARP studs.
i dont about the TG ones,nor would i ever buy these kind of parts from them.i dont trust them with there words.

I'm not a TG fan at all, but the material they advertise (ARP 2000) does exist:

I would agree, but why zinc plate them rather than whatever the black coating is that comes on the studs from FROR that appears to be similar to ARP's other products.

to make them stand out from other arp products, trail gear is all about the show, not the go

They say the TG ones are a newer and a little stronger product then the Front range ones.  not to sure how you would test them.  but the head on the studs makes them a lot easier to install/check.

I've got the TG ARP studs, they seem to be the real deal after wasting a tie rod with my hydro ram rather than breaking studs or TRE's.  I like them for the easy install factor.  I do have the Front Range hub studs, nice product as well!

From what I have researched...   ARP makes the studs for TG....just like they do for FROR....

You cant buy them directly from ARP. And yes...they are stronger "strengthwise" than the ones FROR sells. Seems TG has a leg up on this one
