1989 4runner automatic tranny
« on: Sep 27, 2004, 05:44:06 PM »

Can I drop this transmission {1989 4runner automatic} with out draining it.  :dunno:

I would rather keep the fluid in the tranny as a friend will take it. Then dump it in a bucket. However when I remove the tranny I dont want it leaking everywhere.

The next phase of operation 85 4runner has started.

Thanks Chuck

It is possible to remove the auto without draining the oil.
A little oil will leak from the cooler lines but the oil in the pan will stay there unless it flows out the dip stick tube.
