::) Hi there all, I think I am one of newest Newbies. I live in Johannesburg South Africa and I have a Nissan Patrol 4.2 petrol. I recently decide to sell it and buy a used Toyota FJ80 with permanent 4 wheel drive and the 4.5 litre EFI motor. I found this website by accident - looking for good things to do to my 80 series landcruiser. I see that you guys are really serious about your crawling! I have done a fair amount of desert and mud stuff in the Patrol - with a standard rear diff lock and OME suspension, I haven't got stuck much, but then I haven't really done the crawling thing yet. I would like to know what the experts would recommend I do to my FJ80. I have found some suggestions that make sense - like improving the brakes with 100 series pads and rotors. I have Bilstein shocks in the Patrol and prefer these to OME - I found the OME didn't last - when I last went to the Serengeti I totalled a set of OME shocks - had to revert to the original Nissan which I had as spares. Anyway I would be glad for any advice on what I should consider for my 'new' Toyota. I need to retain the top end (100mph), but need good low down torque as well. Which suspension system - Dobinsons, OME or perhaps another is recommended. Also whether it is worth changing diff ratios? Thanks guys. Graham :dunno:

100 mph?  :smack: Hell I won't drive my 80 on the freeway at that speed!
